What you fuel your body with matters!
Your skin will reflect what you ingest. I’ve had tons of clients come to me for help with their acne. One of the first things I ask is. “What does your diet consist of?” …and we break it down. _ If you are fueling your body with crap, chances are your skin will show signs of that. https://bit.ly/3Svzosm

When You Feel Better, You Look Better
When you feel better, you look better!
Have you ever noticed that when you feel better, you look better? Think about it…
Whether you’re stressed about something, not sleeping well, eating like crap, drinking too much, I guarantee your skin is a tell-tale sign. The skin is the largest organ of your body, so if something is off balance inside, chances are the first place it will show up, is on your skin.
I’m someone who’s brain goes a mile a minute. I have a hard time focusing on just one thing and when I look back on my past, it’s obvious. All the things I’ve started, but never finished. The great ideas I’ve had, but never made time to start. The conversations I’ve had, but don’t recall much about. Things I’ve forgotten to do, etc. (Thank God for phone reminders!) I’ve spent most of my life running around starting so many things, but never really focusing on the task at hand, or getting everything done that I set out to.
My life has changed drastically over the last year.
Eleven months ago, I was a complete, unhappy mess. I had been running on auto-pilot for almost a year before that. I was working at a job that I once wanted so badly, but after five 1/2 years there, my drive to continue what I was doing and where I was, caused me to burnout. I dreaded my alarm clock and my commute to and from work. I wasn’t setting goals and I certainly wasn’t performing to the best of my ability. I was pouring my energy into my clients, but I had nothing left to give myself.
I was exhausted when I came home around 6pm every evening (after sitting in traffic for an hour), which meant my workouts were half assed. I looked terrible and felt even worse. My routine was to get a “quick” workout in, so I could pour a glass of wine and unwind from the life that I wasn’t loving. One glass almost always turned into two. I didn’t even know what good sleep was, and then I would wake up feeling like garbage and do it all over again.
Sounds pretty miserable, doesn’t it? I absolutely was.
I literally got to a point where I couldn’t take it anymore. I felt dead inside and decided to stop saying yes to things that weren’t in alignment with my soul. I did something that I thought about doing so many times, but I never actually thought I would do.
I quit my job without a backup plan.
I hadn’t even sent out a single resume and had nothing lined up. I was so burnt out that I didn’t even think I wanted to be an aesthetician anymore. After 21 years in the business, doing what I absolutely loved to do, I needed a break…A LONG ONE.
I took a couple of weeks off to decompress and started another permanent make-up course. I trained under the best brow artist in the business (Lola Klova, Hey girl!!) and threw myself into the practice. Day after day, I sat at my kitchen table and practiced on fake skin. (My table literally has a permanent brow etched into it, as proof that when I started my pressure was too hard.) Thankfully, each day improving my skills and gaining hope. After completing the course, I decided that I couldn’t give up my love for aesthetics and in one day, I decided to open my own space. I had always dreamed of owning my own business and being my own boss, but now, I finally had the courage to believe in myself.
I opened my spa suite in January of this year. Was it easy? Absolutely not, but I had something that lit me up again. I found something that fueled me to get out of bed in the morning and better myself, every single day. Being a business owner requires a lot and often means saying no to invites and wine nights, because there is more marketing to do and higher goals to achieve.
Eleven months later, my books are getting filled with skin and brow clients and I could not be more grateful. If you’re one of them, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your support and for trusting me to help you feel and look more beautiful.
If you’re reading this and some of my old life resonates with you, I encourage you to find a way to say no to the things that no longer feed your soul and say yes to something that lights you up! It is up to you to change the direction of your life. It’s amazing how transformational one year can be, if you slow down enough to listen to your heart and take that chance you’ve been dreaming of. Maybe you don’t have a dream figured out yet…or maybe you just don’t realize that you do. That’s totally okay. I encourage you to find one thing that lights you up and pursue it.
